Lady in Black is the creation of savvy and chic abaya designer Hessa Al Suwaidi who hails from Dubai. She founded her label in August 2011 from her very own living room, making it one of the latest labels to join the designer abaya directory.
Prices start from a very affordable 450 dirhams, and the abayas are exquisitely hand-embroidered and embellished by Hessa's team of talented Emirati designers with multi-coloured threads and beautiful and fun elements like tassels, bows, flower applique motifs, beads and Swarovski crystals as well as chic details like layering with luxe fabrics. Many abayas incorporate traditional Khaleeji elements with modern cuts and designs - just what we like at UNDER YOUR ABAYA!
As well as ready-to-wear creations, you can also have a custom-made piece.
An average Lady in Black abaya takes two to three weeks to finish and a 50% deposit has to be made in cash upon order. But from the looks of these pictures, it's well worth it!
